Wellbeing
Wellbeing
We adhere to a whole school approach to promote positive behaviour. This approach has a strong emphasis on teaching appropriate behaviours and providing systems of support to bring about these positive behaviours.
Our school aims to provide a safe and supportive environment in which learning takes place. Our school Behaviour Management Policy takes into account the Anti Bullying and Discipline Policies.
Student discipline practices are based on restorative principles and are respectful of the dignity, rights and fundamental freedom of individual students, and at the same time are focused on the effective running of the school for the benefit of all.
We recognise the importance of:
- Fostering the Christian values of justice, love and respect
- Encouraging collaboration between home and school
- Supporting student wellbeing
- Each child’s stage of development
- Care for self and others
- Maintaining a safe environment
- Awareness and respect for other cultures
- Restorative justice principles
Pastoral Care
Our students are encouraged to develop as Christian people through a systematic program of pastoral care in an environment that fosters in each student a sense of unique value, self-esteem and importance to society.
We are dedicated to educational excellence, encouraging students to reach their potential in a nurturing environment to help them become productive Australian citizens reflecting the Christian faith of the Assyrian Church of the East, Assyrian language and Assyrian culture.
Leadership
At St. Narsai, we believe that ‘leaders aren’t born, they are made’ which is why we aim to instil strong leadership skills in each of our students.
St. Narsai Assyrian Christian College’s guiding principles of Excellence, Christian Values and Commitment provide positive leadership behaviour in all students.
Counselling
St. Narsai Assyrian Christian College ensures the wellbeing of our students by making sure the environment they are surrounded in is organised, safe and secure where positive and good learning can take place.
